Taking a Sodium Restricted Diet pertains to having a less intake of salty foods in the body. Thus, this diet is used whenever a patient has uncontrollable sodium content in his own body or when a person is under medical condition and trying not to worsen any illness that he or she has. eg; (improving the health of your kidney, lowering the blood pressure etc.)

Aim:
Aside from restricting a patients intake of sodium content, this diet aims to maintain a patient's condition in a state of nutritive sufficiency. It is designed for maintaining nutrition and at the same time controlling the patient's intake of sodium content food, thus is follows the principles of good meal planning.

Characteristics:
Consist of all fruits and vegetables; requires lesser food intake of any high-sodium content foods. This also requires proper meal planning.

Indications for Use:
For any person whose interested in taking Sodium Restricted Diet, to keep a healthy kidney or to help maintain blood pressure on a good level at the same time maintaining a good level of nutrition.

Feeding Administration:
Similar to a Regular Diet but restricts food intake of any high-sodium content.

Foods Allowed:
All fruits, fruit juices, unsweetened juices, fresh vegetables, poultry products, low-sodium cheese etc..

Foods to be Avoided:
Foods that are high in sodium content, fast food, condiments, garnishes, canned goods, baked goods, other salted food snacks etc.
